Provider Management Program FAQ

Q: As a provider applicant, how do I know which services I am able to offer, and which credentials are required?

A: To help you determine what services you can provide and whether you have the required credentials to be a provider, please review the following Ohio Administrative Codes “VR Fee Schedule and Descriptions” (OAC 3304-2-52 Appendix) and “Qualifications and standards for service providers and vendors” (OAC 3304-2-53). These links can also be obtained at the OOD website “Become a VR Provider.”

Q: Is there a paper application for becoming a new provider? What if I am not comfortable using the computer?

A: The only application for providers is through the online Provider Management Program. Our providers will need to have a functional level of computer skills in order to assist individuals with disabilities. As you go through the VR process with OOD, it will be imperative for all providers to be able to utilize email for communication, online/electronic systems for updating provider information, report writing/submitting, and navigating online searches to apply to employment opportunities. Providers regularly assist in educating participants on how to use computers and online search engines throughout the job search process as well; making computer skills a necessity throughout the VR process.

Q: I completed my application in the PMP. What can I expect next?

A: Thank you for your interest in becoming an OOD provider. After submitting your application, a letter will be sent to you acknowledging receipt of the application. This letter will inform you if any additional documents are required to process your application and a Rehabilitation Program Specialist (RPS) will schedule a meeting with you to discuss services and provide an overview of the VR process before the final review of your application. Your application will be reviewed by your assigned RPS within 30 days from the date you submit the application and all supporting documentation.

Q: I am encountering an error in the system and would like assistance. Can anyone help?

A: If you are having issues with completing an application or with updating information please email pcmu@ood.ohio.gov and a Program Specialist will contact you.
